From the flatlands of the Midwest comes a band of urban hillbillies who joined the bluegrass revolution and set out to bring the mountain sounds to those seeking a respite from the daily grind.

Jeff Blanchard is just one of the bluegrass revolutionists in the Des Moines band, Mr. Baber's Neighbors - The Solar String Band. Jeff picks up a storm on the guitar and is also, appropriately enough, our new host of IOWA HOMEGROWN - the show that brings you local licks every Sunday from 3-5 p.m.
