Growing up in Des Moines, one of Dennis' earliest and fondest recollections of radio was listening to Walt Reno read the comics on Sunday mornings. He also listened to Ron Sorenson on KFMG in the '60s and to Mark Vos on KC14 in the '70s. He enjoys listening to all genres of music.
His family includes his wife and two kids. His favorite vacation spots are the Black Hills of South Dakota and Sanibel Island in Florida. They also have two cats, one dog, numerous fish, a hermit crab, and a few bugs.
His weekly challenge involves entering the online contest at The New Yorker and trying to write the winning caption for the cartoon.
He is a graduate of Simpson College, Truman State University, and most recently, Radio Garage University in Urbandale.
When he's not teaching students the intricacies of our language, he is busy preparing for his hour-and-twenty-minute show every Saturday afternoon starting at 12:40 right after Rejection Slip Theatre.
Everyone is encouraged to become a charter member of KFMG. For as little as fifty dollars, you can help guarantee quality programming on KFMG and keep the desk stocked with paper clips and staples. |
