Contribute to KFMG 99.1

At the top of each hour we say: "KFMG is a 'listener-supported' service of The Des Moines Community Radio Foundation." That means that a significant portion of our revenues comes from people just like you. People who listen to KFMG and love what we do. Our absence from January through June of 2010 shows just how important that revenue is. Please consider helping KFMG to continue as "Your Community Voice" by providing financial assistance. You can easily do so by making a contribution with a credit card through our supporters at Red Truck Tickets. They are donating their services to us and are not taking any compensation from your contribution (other than passing through the credit card companies' processing fees). To donate using a credit card, please visit the Red Truck Tickets Contribution page.

You may also send a donation in the form of cash, check or money order directly to KFMG at the address on the Contact Us page.

NEW! The Doughnut In Granny's Greenhouse
Posted in Station News
Thursday nights and running from 8-10 p.m., KFMG not-so-proudly presents THE DOUGHNUT IN GRANNY'S GREENHOUSE.

Wait - wasn't that a comedy program on some cable FM station, like, 25 years ago?

Why yes it was. And thanks for remembering. In this incarnation, we've doubled the length and added additional content just for you, the many listener.

Well, what can I expect to hear on this so-called "show?" Will it be comedy again?

Yes. And more. The old Mickey Mouse Club used to have "anything can happen day" on Wednesdays. And that's what this will be - except on Thursdays instead of Wednesdays. Basically, just about anything from the last fifty years of music and then some. Oldies. New stuff. Progressive rock. Rarities. Maybe even a show tune or two... hard to say...

And who is the host of this new show? Brad Harvey, digging through his rather eclectic music collection and inflicting it on unsuspecting listeners. He has suffered for his music and now it's your turn.

One Word After Another with Jim Autry
Posted in Station News
One of our most popular features. Yeah, it's poetry, but this isn't about Bambi in the meadow by a babbling brook ... it's totally up in your grill. Confrontational, emotional, powerful, and boy, does it ever make you think. This is GREAT stuff.

Take five and get a dose of Spoken Word every day at 3 a.m., 8 a.m., 3 p.m., and 9 p.m. CT on KFMG 99.1 FM and www.kfmg991.org.
